Fetch, Chicken, Fetch!

The girls came up with a new game the other day. They discovered that the chickens were fascinated by one of the cats' toys, a small plastic ball with a bell inside, so what did they do? They began to throw the ball for the chickens. And the chickens actually chased the ball! I couldn't believe it. Our crazy hens play fetch better than our dog! Granted, our poor dog is getting old and these are spring chicks so it isn't a fair comparison, but he never was all that great at fetching. I was warned when I got him that Rottweilers are fairly lazy dogs and I have found that to be true. But I never suspected that he would be out-fetched by CHICKENS!
