Kitty Pics

In the morning, I took these pictures of the girls enjoying the three little kittens, as we like to call them. Unfortunately, when I checked on them again in the afternoon, one of the kitties had died. I expected it to be the little runt that I had to bottle feed after I found it hours after it had been born. But no, it was the middle-sized kitten that was strong and healthy. I suspect it may have been smothered by its mama cat who has a tendency to lay on her kittens. The girls are very sad at losing another kitty but they are looking on the bright side that they still have two kitties left. They have now named the kitties. The little runt is named Mewpithicus (a strong name since it is a little fighter) and the bigger one is named Granite. Granite looks a bit like our cat, Flint, who died so we chose another grey rock name in honor of Flint.
